This Husqvarna 240 is just a little step up from the 236 model. It is a little larger and does have just a little bit more power. An additional feature on this model is the side mounted chain tensioner. Again this chainsaw is ideal for the small to medium garden owner who wishes to do gardening jobs such as pruning, light cutting and other hobby tasks. It too is fitted with Husqvarna features such as the X-Torq engine, ergonomic design and LowVib. It is a quality chainsaw at a reasonable price but it has the unfortunate position of being situated between the 236 and the 240e. In our opinion the additional chain tensioner and slighter better power do not justify the difference in price between it and the 236. And then there is the slightly better 240e version just above it. Kind of feel a little sorry for this chainsaw as for the price, the 236 model is better value and the 240e model is a better chainsaw. We would never turn away a Husqvarna chainsaw if someone offered us one to home, however the 236 and 240e are actually preferable on relevant criteria when it comes to selecting a chainsaw.
